SFW launched its new website today, which has been designed and developed in SharePoint 2010.
The development of this site took the form of migration from the SharePoint 2007 platform into a SharePoint 2010 environment. It also involved integrating Silverlight and jQuery elements in the home page to provide a more interactive, richer experience for visitors.
The site content and appearance has also been re-designed by SFW's design partners, Clear Signal, to give it a more modern feel and focus more strongly on the needs of different types of site visitors. This includes the addition of more service zones on the homepage, each of which have been designed to service a particular need, so many users will only be one click away from the information that they are seeking.
Speaking about the new website Steve Elliott, SFW Director said "A website is often referred to as an organisation's "shop window". And, as a technology company, it is important that SFW's "window" evolves in line with technology and user need. I believe that this new website demonstrates SFW's proven skills and experience not only in successfully migrating to SharePoint 2010, developing in it and integrating it with other technologies, but also in delivering an experience that satisfies visitor needs - swiftly. "
SFW's website will continue to evolve with the introduction of further new features and tools throughout the coming year.
