19 March 2013
for Red Nose Day, with £271.60 going to Comic Relief
Between 11th - 15th March 2013, SFW employees spent their lunchtimes doing something funny for money in a company-wide fundraising effort for Comic Relief, successfully raising £271.60 for the charity.
Every day different team members organised and took part in a range of silly games and challenges which included a Weakest Link-style quiz, a Scavenger Hunt and a highly competitive game of Twister! The SFW Directors also took part in the fun, competing against each other in a Wii Boxing tournament that went to a judges' decision and in a specially-designed Bushtucker trial which both undertook with surprising ease!
Talking about the Comic Relief fundraising, Peter Hornsby, SFW Director commented "I'm sure I should have won in the boxing tournament - I think the judges' decision was rigged! I'm so pleased
that the SFW teams have raised this money for Comic Relief and have had so much fun doing it. I'm also pleased and that Steve (Elliott) and I have been able to take part, despite the rather disgusting taste in our mouths."
Comic Relief's 2013 appeal raised a record-breaking on-the-night total of £75,107,851.
